HOW CHARMING!

I can remember when every lady, even young ladies, had a charm bracelet.  One could always tell a ladies passions by the charms on her bracelet.  Conversely, one could always tell if the wearer had no passions...just a checkbook and a taste for bling.

I well remember the charm bracelet my Mother wore and the charms she collected.  They were the silhouetted heads of the children with birth dates, a piano, a garden spade (she love to garden), a golf bag complete with clubs, one of her first "princess rings" as a young bride made into a charm, and so it went.  The point was each charm was chosen one at a time for a reason out of love.  Yes...they were gold and some had diamonds or other stones, but that was hardly the point.  Each time she looked down it evoked a special thought, a memory, a special time in her life.

After her death, I asked my father about the location of her charm bracelet....he casually remarked he had sold it to the neighbor (or given it away).  So you see, memories are to be stored in your mind to be documented for future generations.  If there are things that go along with them that is great, but if not it's OK.  It's just stuff...the stuff made of memories.

As always....xx.dt
