We have been looking at all the new lines for weeks with our wonderful hardworking fabric reps. It seems the vast majority of fabric firms are playing it super safe with basic solid programs or everything embroidered out of India (someone in India is making major $$$) and very little refinement. We are thrilled when we see a snippet of pretty in a line.

What do I mean when I say pretty. Well certainly not ruffles, swags and bows, just nice clear colors, wonderful document prints, nice small original patterns for the occasional chairs, silks (other than a solid) for drapery and shades. And wallpaper! Give me some decent luxe wallpaper! In other words, fabrics and trims that will work with those heirloom pieces from you grammy that always had your name on it!

During times such as these, when the world is in so much turmoil, our home should be a place to feel comforted and to be surrounded by the things you love and the people you love. For most of us a sense of the old mixed with a bit of the new will create that emotional response.

Just don't overdo it and make your home a museum. Remember, this is where you go to find comfort...and peace.
