the art of the pin....
No, this is NOT a post about Pinterest! It is a post about the art of the pin (or brooch).
Wonderful pins were a favorite jewelry item of my mother, and she was a lady that knew how to wear them correctly and creatively.
On the shoulder of a jacket or dress, in the 60's on hats, on the cuff of a blazer, even pins on a simple fabric evening bag. Yes... Syble Taylor knew a thing or two about pins.
Pins should always be amusing, sometimes even surreal, and often an absurd imitation of nature. Whether real or faux, pins can add that bit of whimsy that only a woman sure of her own style dare add to her ensemble.
