DT's Top Picks for Fall
I recently took a short shopping trip to several of my favorite spots in order to get "up to speed" for the Fall season. As I had previously predicted, navy is certainly the "new black". Believe me...I fully understand how ridiculous that sounds! Fact is, navy is everywhere. It seems to be most prevalent when combined with camel and tobacco tones. Add a great brown shoe or boot and you are set!
Club Monaco has devoted the entire store to this look for their new rollout for early fall. Also, if you have not been in the stores lately expect a surprise...new decor and a more upscale grownup attitude. This jaded ex-fashionista was most impressed, and that takes some doing.
Of course we are still seeing tons of black dresses, a return to well cut jersey dresses are especially a welcome sight (as they are so forgiving and ageless) and well cut blazers are once again a "have to" staple.
The equestrian influence is everywhere as well, as evidenced by the return of the cape! Any gal that can effectively pull off a cape has style to spare. This item is not for everyone, but when it works it is magic! and riding boots are our there in any and every variation....get some.
That about does it for this report. My opinion...this is a great year to collect key pieces that you will have for years to come. Remember...always buy the best you can afford...you will never be sorry.
