Klara's

Last night "da hubby" says...please let's get out and try a new place.  Many of you may not know that I am quite the homebody and a creature of habit.  So off we go (after 2 costume changes) to find "something new".  It turns out the the newest place in our neighborhood is in the old location of one of our old favorites (Fraziers...now closed).

I happen to love classic Eastern European foods...schnitzel, goulash, the cheeses and cured meats, rich creamy sauces, spaetzel...all of that is my kind of comfort food.  Food snobs call this peasant food, but for me it is the stuff sweet dreams are made of.

Klara and her staff are all from Prague, and she happened to be working the bar and the door last night.  We sat at the bar as we do quite often, especially on a first visit.  I think we get a better feel for the staff and overall flavor of the restaurant.

Moral:  get over to Klara's on Hillsborough St. in Raleigh and start to experience the authentic, made from scratch flavor of Prague!  My picky taste buds left super happy!  Tell Klara DT sent you...and try the Pear Martini...made with fresh pear...delish...I had two.
