12/12/12...a day to reflect

12/12/12/  Why do I say this is a day to reflect?  Because this is the last time in any of our lifetimes that we will ever see another sequential date...6/6/06...11/11/11...you got me?  The next one will be 1/1/2101.  I do not plan to be around for that one.

Sometimes we need a major date or milestone to make us to stop and reflect.  In our hyper uber busy world the greatest luxury is time.  How do you want to spend the rest of your time on this earth...with who...doing what...where?  All these concepts are pretty major in my opinion.  Are you just waiting to die or do you want to live until you are spent...done..given all there is in you!

As one whose lifestyle involves no children of my own, I can be a bit selfish as to how I spend these last years.  As a Christian, I believe that no man knows the day or the hour of his or her demise unless it is by their own hand.  With that said, I try to live by the grace of God and my own mantra which is if you give more than you take from any situation you will always have more than enough.  I am living proof that this mindset works...but only if you really believe it.  To be selfish is the ultimate luxury, and I abhor any type of self serving arrogance.  Many confuse arrogance with self confidence.  I cannot tell you how often this mistake happens in my world.

So the Mayan calendar tells us that the end of time is next Friday...the 21st.  They did invent chocolate, so that has to count for something!  As for me, I would rather not know and wait for my God to send me an escort to the next dimension of life (whatever that may be).  After all, you have to have faith in something other than yourself even if it is Facebook!
