The Barn Wedding
It has come to my attention that many brides these days are choosing to have their reception parties in very non-traditional venues. My niece Brittany is no exception. She has her heart and mind set on using a "barn" on the grounds of a plantation just outside of Charleston. The wedding will be at Grace Episcopal Church downtown (as it should be), but then we all head out to the country for the party at a plantation on the river.

Being the very bright young lady (and excellent planner) that she is, she has enlisted the assistance of her only uncle with any sliver of knowledge in these matters. I am more than flattered! Needless to say, I do not want to step on any toes (Mother), but I do have a Pinterest board started to keep all my ideas in digital form!
Want to see what I have in mind? Here goes....
The church pews....
The dress...she really wants lace, hair up, and chandelier earrings.

For the tables...I would use white bags with ivory ribbon and tiny boxwoods....very old Charleston!
Romantic lighting....

A remembrance of those who have passed....

Cake and Champs!

A little something to remember the day!

That is as far as I have gotten....what do you think?
As always...xx.DT

I would vary the plants on the tables by doing at least half of them in rosemary topiaries, A third choice could be small Norfolk pines.
