THE OLD FAMILY PLACE ON CLEVELAND STREET

Over at 505 Cleveland Street near downtown Raleigh sits the old Douvris family home place.  The Douvris family has all moved away or passed away.
As forlorn as the old 1915 Craftsman home was went I first encountered it, I knew instinctively it had fine bones.  The great thing for me as a designer, developer, and Realtor was that this was a time capsule!  No one had ever bothered to do any funky 60's updates, lower the wonderful 10 foot ceilings, remove the wrap around, super deep front porch...original details inside and out were intact. Here is a photo of the before.
George and his wife Stephanie charged me with the duty of selling the home, hopefully to someone that would do a sensitive restoration.  I knew just the guy.  Doug Muhle and his crews had done many "flips" with me before, saving old ITB Raleigh homes that many would have torn down for greater profit.  Once again Doug and his folks did not disappoint!  The old home is once again shining like new.  I think George and the rest of the Dourvis clan would be proud!

This wonderful historic property has just been reduced to $509,000!  Our vision was to create the perfect walkable home for an empty nester, young professional, or anyone who wants to be in the midst of the downtown action but far enough away to have a real home with some history.  Why buy a condo when you can have your own four walls and this fabulous wraparound porch?

As always....xx.DT
