Porch Time
In this part of the South we will soon have a very narrow window of time that will be perfect porch weather. The mosquitos of Summer will be nested and waiting to reappear in the Spring, the humidity will be at a tolerable level for comfort and hair (my lady friends keep a flat iron hot all Summer), and we can sit and chat with friends over a delicious "porchtail".
Now is the time to get your cushions clean, any painting done, perhaps purchase a few new accessories, and get the porch ready for action. We have a front and back porch, but unfortunately in all our renovations to the cottage we never got around to adding a screened one. Perhaps redo #6 will bring that addition!
But for now we are content to spend the afternoons on the front porch (covered) and open the french doors to the kitchen (da hubby had an inspiration during redo #4), set up the bar, bring out the magazines, and wave to the neighbors as they walk their dogs and children. We always invite the dogs into the fence, but only well behaved children (LOL).
Get your porch ready...you only have a snippet of time to really enjoy it!
