getting ready to "git shed"

True contentment depends not upon what we have; a tub was large enough for Diogenes, but a world was too little for Alexander. ~Charles Caleb Colton

Well...I am no Alexander, but getting rid of earthly things has been an ongoing process. Yes, I am keeping "the good stuff"...plus the really sentimental things...Great Uncle Pete's bronze baby shoe, Great Aunt Ruby's gold cross, a few of Mother's birds and some silver. But the great majority will go to auction this summer. Not because of lack of funds (although the extra cushion will come in handy), because I have never lived an extravagant life. A very stylish life, but not extravagant.

These photos are just of the "smalls". There is furniture, rugs, lighting, office equipment, vintage linens and needlepoint pillows galore.

So if you need a collection of vintage bridge tablecloths, pre-war salt and
pepper shakers, or an old chadelier with matching sconces...call Woodside Antiques and Auctions in Farmville. The box truck from Raleigh leaves this week with the really big funiture...Armoires (French and English), Aubussons (2), a pair of Bergeres, and more mirrors and art.

You want a piece of me...now is your chance. Sometimes God whispers in your ear...time to let go...listen.
