Traditions...Southern or Not

I totally agree with everything except #9.  While I cherish the two handmade quilts that have been passed down to me from generations ago, the old tatting lace edged linen vanity table pieces and other handmade items from over a century ago (how did I get this old), I have YET to find a sweet pickle to rival those of my Mother or my Aunt Genevieve.  These pickles were the secret to the best chicken salad ever made.  I literally wept when I used the last jar after Mother passed!  

Tip:  Get the recipes while you can and keep them safe.  Great cooks never write anything down...they just know.
